We love hearing what alumni have been up to since they graduated from AMUA because they end up doing really amazing things! Today we’re featuring Aeriel Bradley, who works for a Special Effects company called M6 FX. Read on below for Aeriel’s story!
Aeriel: “I work for a SFX company called M6 FX. We are subcontracted and hired out as teams for companies like SeaWorld Entertainment, for example.
I mostly work at Busch Gardens (Tampa) because it’s closer to my home (perks of being a freelancer!) As a team, we make sure the actor’s makeup is in place and not falling off throughout the night! Some of the other makeup artists do murals.
It’s super fun to work as a subcontractor because of the variety. As jobs come up, they are passed on to the right person on the team. This has really helped me to know what I truly love to do, and work through any challenges when they are thrown at me. Whether supplies turn out different, different techniques are requested last-minute… one of the most important lessons is to be open to whatever is happening, and knowing your stuff! Like the art forms, the lighting, what products to use when and where…
That is what AMUA has really taught me. To keep an open mind because you can, and will, learn anything from anybody! Whether that is a good lesson or a bad lesson, at the end of the day it is lesson!
The last project we worked on as the M6 FX team was Halloween at Busch Gardens – see photos!”
