We have some exciting news to share! AMUA is starting to work with students on 3D Printing and Animatronics.

Sooo… what’s that?

One of our students, Madison, is test piloting the upcoming program and explains: “Essentially, I am building a full body monster equipped with an animatronic head, prosthetic chest, back and arms.

Coming into this [test] program I knew the bare minimum about anything in the world of animatronics and 3D printing and now almost two months in I’m already making hefty progress on designing and building all the mechanisms needed to bring my design to life.

Through building this creature I’m able to take the principles I’ve learned in the previous courses and refine them.

By taking this course I’m able to expand my skillset and have the confidence to walk into any job knowing I’d have no problem handling whatever gets thrown my way.”

The upcoming animatronics program will greatly improve problem solving skills, which is actually 80% of what is happening on a daily basis in the life of an artist.

Working with these technologies will expand upon your skillset learned in all of AMUA’s programs, and of course will give you more avenues to get jobs, ranging from puppeteering to physically building complex and wearable animatronics. Looks good on your resume, if you ask us!
